Our Mission

Our mission is to create a space where people can learn, create, and reconnect with nature, culture, and traditional wisedom.

As a non-profit cultural association, we offer educational experiences in nature, including visits to an authentic tipi and our international art gallery. Through these activities, we share knowedge about indigenous traditions, celebrate cultural diversity, and inspire creativity.

With the support of our community, we continue to develop educational programs, build traditional tipis, and invite teachers, artists, and mentors to share their knowledge and inspire others.

The creation of Tipi23 emerged from a shared vision: to offer education in a way that is immersive, nature-based, and culturally enriching. Located in the natural setting of Los Molinos del Rio Aguas, our initiative integrates environmental awareness, traditional knowledge, artistic expression, and intercultural dialogue.

We believe that education is most powerful when it is lived - and that nature remains our most profround teacher.

With a deep passion for art, nature, and culture, Silvie leads the creative and educational vision behind Tipi23. She holds a Master’s degree in Primary Education and has professional experience as a primary school teacher in the United Kingdom. Her pedagogical background, combined with her experience as a mother, shapes a thoughtful, child-centred approach to learning.

Working in an off-grid natural setting in Los Molinos, Silvie specialises in outdoor learning, using nature as both classroom and inspiration. She designs and leads art courses that encourage curiosity, empathy, creativity, and respect for cultural diversity through hands-on, experiential activities. Her approach connects children with their environment while nurturing confidence, imagination, and collaborative learning.

Silvie is also the author of a book focused on activities in and for nature, reflecting her commitment to environmental awareness and creative outdoor education.

Honza brings a lifetime of experience in traditional outdoor skills and nature-based living to Tipi23. With extensive knowledge of survival techniques, shelter building, and sustainable practices in natural environments, he plays a key role in shaping the project’s connection to land, craftsmanship, and self-sufficiency.

A carpenter by trade, Honza has been designing and building his own tipis for over 30 years. His hands-on expertise combines practical construction skills with a deep understanding of traditional materials, structures, and outdoor living. This knowledge is rooted in personal experience — as teenagers, Honza and Silvie spent summers in the Czech forests, building tipis and living close to nature, an approach that continues to influence their work today.

Over the years, Honza has also developed a strong interest in the history and culture of Native American tribes, particularly the Lakota Nation. He is the author and curator of the Lakota-focused section of the gallery, created in recognition of the tribe’s spiritual depth, wisdom, and enduring cultural heritage. Through his work, he helps share traditional knowledge, craftsmanship, and respect for nature with visitors of all ages.
